Hotel 1960, operators of Prince of Anthony, Classic and Eagles’ Park Boutique Art Hotels in Lagos in conjunction with Inspiro Productions, recently hosted the outgoing Consul General of South Africa, Ambassador Monaisa Mokgheti, his lovely wife and members of the SA community in Lagos.
The well-attended event, which took place at the Prince of Anthony Boutique Art Hotel in Anthony Village, kicked off with an art exhibition by the Henri Moweta Gallery.
Graced by eminent personalities in various spheres of society including Consul Generals of other missions in Nigeria like Germany, Equatorial Guinea and the diplomatic community, members of the press corps were not left out.
It was a convivial evening of music, dance with lots to eat and drink. On the bandstand to entertain that evening was rising Afro Jazz guitar supremo Adeh. He was joined by other musicians like Orliam, Tee Mac, Obadikah Brass Band and a host of others.
The roll call of personalities at the event included Akin Adeoya- Chairman Hotel 1960, Ayoola Sadare – CEO Inspiro Productions, Steve Ayorinde – commissioner for Information & Strategy Lagos state, Mike Dada – founder/coordinator -AFRIMA. Thobi Duma – South African Airways Country Manager, Nondumiso Ngubane – Third Secretary South Africa High Commission, Lagos, and many others.
In his vote of thanks, Mokgheti thanked the organisers Akin Adeoya and Ayoola Sadare of Hotel 1960 Group and Inspiro productions, respectively for a wonderful evening. He also extended his gratitude and recollected his stay in Nigeria as being very warm and welcoming in spite of one or two challenges during his tenure. He said that the relationship between both countries could only grow stronger, stating that with the continued collaboration between the two countries the African continent would be the better for it.
