Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry may soon incur the wrath of fans of the club, after labelling former Gunners striker, Alexis Sanchez a “role model” despite his infamous exit.

The Chile international became a hero at the Emirates Stadium after recording 125 goal contributions in 166 games from 2014 to 2018 for Arsenal.

However, Sanchez left the north London club in an unpleasant fashion, having attempted to force his way out of the club.

He eventually joined the club’s arch-rivals, Manchester United in a swap deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan move from Old Trafford to the Emirates Stadium.

While with the Red Devils, however, the Chilean forward could not find the form which made him fans’ favourites at Arsenal, as he flopped at the Theatre of Dreams.

He later joined Inter Milan before moving to Olympique Marseille last summer where he has enjoyed somewhat of a resurgence, scoring 13 in 28 games so far this season.

Discussing the forward on Prime Video, former Arsenal striker, Henry eulogised the striker for his ability on and off the pitch.

He also admitted that he thought Sanchez had passed his prime at Inter Milan, until he proved him wrong with his resurgence at Marseille.

He said: “At Arsenal, he made me dream. He left but I always liked his desire, the way he presses.

“We all know he’s quality but at Inter I said to myself, ‘He’s started to decline’. But honestly, now at Marseille

“He’s a role model, on and off the pitch too.”
