The Reds who won the league in 2021, have challenged Man City’s dominance in the past few seasons, but they began this season badly and are currently 13 points behind the Citizens.

And although Man City are one point behind Arsenal, who is at the summit of the league, Guardiola believes that Liverpool have what it takes to bounce back and fight for the title.

He told journalists at his post-match conference on Friday that despite their current position, they remain the biggest threat to their league ambition.

Guardiola said, “Liverpool always have been our biggest challengers and they will be now.

“Being in the position that we are, with the World Cup, anything can happen.

“Liverpool have a good team. Of course, the crowd was involved in the stadium but they have a good team.”
