Ace Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has justified her decision to stop attending church services in person.
Speaking via a Snapchat video on Sunday, the thespian said she opted out of joining other worshippers physically because she inadvertently causes a distraction.
According to Akindele, she stopped going to church because the attention of those who came to worship often shifts to her rather than the service.
She further explained that members of the congregation frequently try to take her picture or demand photos with her.

“Anytime I go to church, I am always the one they take pictures of. So, I will join online,” Akindele said.
She noted that she has now decided to put an end to the chaos caused by her presence by participating in church services online instead.
In 2022, the movie star openly identified herself as a member of the Celestial Church of Christ.
“Every time I have challenges, I go to the Celestial church quietly at night for solutions. But I had to stop hiding and publicly identify with the church,” Akindele previously stated.
