The suspended governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara, has disassociated himself from the 2027 campaign materials currently circulating in the state.
Addressing his followers on Saturday
in the capital of the state, Port Harcourt, the governor said he did not authorise the production of campaign caps and shirts for the 2027 election.
He also added that he is only interested in the sustenance of peace in Rivers State.
Speaking with PDP members, Fubara
said: “I was pissed off. Someone forwarded to me a video showing where they were producing campaign materials—caps and shirts—for the 2027 general elections.
“I am not aware of it, and I did not authorise or send anyone. Every one of us should understand that we have done our best, and what we need now is this peace for us to grow.”
His comment comes after President Bola Tinubu resolved the political crisis in Rivers State.
Fubara’s feud with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyemson Wike led to the declaration of a state of emergency in the state.
The governor was also suspended for six months by President Tinubu.
However, the president resolved the crisis last week during a meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
