According to Fubara, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ represents a sacred season of reconciliation and unity.

He went on to note that that the Easter season is a period that peace will overcome war.

Speaking on the importance of the Easter season, he said: “It is a time to reaffirm our shared belief that peace shall overcome war, and that even shattered dreams can find new life in the light of the resurrection.

“Therefore, I call on the good people of Rivers State to continue to support and align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of our dear President, His Excellency, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, while looking forward to a better tomorrow.”

Fubara made the appeal about 24 hours after his predecessor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike admitted he wanted him outrightly removed as governor.

Wike, however, disclosed that Tinubu’s intervention by declaring a state of emergency saved Rivers State from calamity.

Addressing journalists, Wike said: “As a politician, I’m not happy because I wanted the outright removal of the governor, but for the interest of the state, the president did the right thing.

“People must say the truth, the governor was gone, people should be worshipping Mr. President every morning for saving them.”

The FCT minister further extended an olive branch to Fubara, stressing that he must genuinely ask for forgiveness.

Wike and Fubara have been against each other since the latter assumed office as Rivers State governor in 2023.
