Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has formally disengaged members of his cabinet, expressing gratitude for their service and contributions to the state’s development over the past two years.
The officials affected include commissioners and other public officers whose appointments were recently nullified by the Supreme Court, effectively bringing their tenure to an end.
Speaking at a valedictory session held on Wednesday at Government House, Port Harcourt, as part of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary activities, Fubara commended the outgoing cabinet members.
The Governor, who was suspended during the State of Emergency imposed on Rivers by President Bola Tinubu, used the occasion to underscore the importance of national unity and urged Nigerians to support the President’s efforts to build a peaceful, secure, and prosperous country.
Reaffirming his commitment to the people of Rivers State, Fubara thanked citizens for their unwavering support and extended good wishes to Nigerians on the Independence celebration.
