Fashanu once contested for the post of president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) but lost.

English television presenter and former England international, John Fashanu has expressed his desire to take charge of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The 62-year-old, who once played for English Premier League (EPL) clubs, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace as a striker, made this known during a recent interview with some journalists in Ogun State.
According to him, he has what it takes to tinker with the three-time African champions.
Speaking during the interview which is currently trending on social media platform X, Fashanu said, “I want to be the manager of the Eagles, that’s one of the hardest jobs in this country.
“But I’m saying I can do it and I can do it with the right people, the people who understand the game of football.”

John Fashanu was born in England on September 18, 1962 to a Nigerian father and British mother.
He represented the Three Lions of England twice.
He, however, contested for the post of president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), but lost.
Malian tactician, Eric Chelle is currently in charge of the Super Eagles.
