The former Deputy Chairman, Isiala Ngwa North Local Governmenbt Area and the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ikpeazu on Education, Sir Chinedu Ugoala, has lauded Abia State governor for his achievements within two years in office especially in education.

He said, “despite the lean resources of the state and distractions through litigations yet Dr. Ikpeazu was able to pay counter part funding worth up to N5b to enable the state access Universal Basic Education Commission fund which hitherto had not been accessed in the past years”.

With UBEC fund, not less than 163 primary schools would be built and equipped across the state and that 60 would be rehabilitated, according to the SSA to the governor.

He noted that before the assumption of power in May 2015 by Governor Ikpeazu, there was infrastructural decay in the state including government schools and expressed hope that with the high premium placed on education by the governor, the lost glory of public schools will be restored.

Ugoala called for the reintroduction of Parents Teachers Association in Abia public schools, arguing that its little contributions will help in the maintenance of minor repairs in the schools. He commended the efforts of the Education Secretary of Isiala Ngwa Local Government Area, Mrs. Harley Onuoha, for doing well in the administration of education in the council.

“I was impressed on the performance of the Education Secretary of Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State, Mrs. Harley Onuoha, and I urge her to keep it up”.
