By Uzor Odigbo

Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions, Rangers International, have extended the contract of head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu by one year, keeping him at the club until 2027.

The contract extension comes as a reward for Ilechukwu’s impressive work with the Flying Antelopes, having guided the Enugu-based side to the NPFL title in the just-concluded season.

Popularly referred to as “The Working One,” Ilechukwu played a pivotal role in Rangers’ successful campaign, leading the team to domestic glory with a series of consistent performances throughout the season.

The new deal means the experienced tactician will continue overseeing the club’s ambitions both domestically and on the continental stage, as Rangers prepare for another demanding continental football campaign.

With one more year now added to his stay, Rangers have reaffirmed their confidence in Ilechukwu’s ability to build on the club’s recent success and maintain their status among Nigeria’s elite teams.
