The Minister of Sports Development, John Enoh, has praised Nigeria’s Flamingos after they walloped Ecuador 4-0 in their second match of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup played at Estadio Cibao, Santiago de Los Caballeros, Dominican Republic on Saturday.

He hailed the women’s Under 17 team on Sunday via a statement signed by his spokesperson, Diana Mary Nsan.

According to the minister, the players demonstrated exceptional skills, teamwork, and determination throughout the match.

He also highlighted that such performances reflect the hard work and dedication of the athletes, coaching staff, and everyone involved in the development of women’s football in Nigeria.

“The Flamingos have shown remarkable talent and commitment, and their victory is a testament to their preparation and teamwork,” he said.

He further emphasized that the success of the U17 Women’s team serves as a powerful example of what can be accomplished with hard work, dedication, and passion.

“As we celebrate this victory, let us remember that these young athletes are paving the way for future generations. They embody the spirit of perseverance and excellence,” Enoh added.

The minister reiterated government’s commitment to supporting female athletes and ensuring that they receive the resources and opportunities necessary to thrive in their sporting endeavors.

Flamingos’ impressive victory against Ecuador solidifies their position at the top of Group A with 6 points from two games.
