The 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II has bagged a doctorate in Islamic law at the University of London, United Kingdom.
Chief executive officer of RadioNow 95.3FM, Kadaria Ahmed, broke the news in a Facebook post on August 17.
She said the king’s examiners approved his PhD thesis without any amendments or corrections.
His thesis was titled “Codification of Islamic Family Law as an Instrument of Social Reform: A Case Study of the Emirate of Kano and Comparison with the Kingdom of Morocco.”
Congratulating him, Ahmed wrote, “Happy to report, our Khalifa, our King, HRH Muhammadu Sanusi II, is now also a Doctor having successfully done his Viva Voce.

“His PhD was approved as submitted without any amendments or corrections. The examiners said congratulations Dr Sanusi!
“I am delighted to be able to join the examiners in congratulating Mai Martaba. Alhamdullilah.”
The former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) began the programme after his removal from the throne in 2020 by the then-Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
