The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has placed the immediate past Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, on its watch list.
The NIS called for Bello‘s arrest at any point of exit or entry into the country by security agencies.
In a letter by an Assistant Comptroller of Immigration, D S Umar, on behalf of the Comptroller-General, Kemi Nanna Nandap, the Service said Bello was facing trial in the Federal High Court Abuja on money laundering charges.

The letter which was addressed to the Director General of DSS, NIA and the Inspector General of Police, urged the security agencies to arrest Bello at any point of entry or exit into the country.
TheNiche earlier reported that the Presidency had advised the former governor to engage the services of brilliant lawyers instead of ducking arrest.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the president on Communication and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, advised Yahaya Bello to submit himself to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as there was no place to hide.
Onanuga made the comment in a post on his X handle following the publication by the EFCC declaring Yahaya Bello as a wanted person.
The post by Onanuga reads: “Yahaya Bello, where will you run to? It’s better you submit yourself to the EFCC and get a good lawyer.”
The EFCC on Tuesday declared Yahaya Bello wanted over alleged N80 billion fraud.
The commission urged anyone with information “as to his whereabout to report immediately to the Commission or the nearest Police Station.”
This comes 24 hours after Bello evaded arrest from EFCC operatives to face criminal charges in court.
