Elder O hosts two shows at O’jez

Comedian Elder O will be hosting this year’s O’jez Sallah Nite and O’jez Independence Groove shows scheduled for September 23 and October 1, respectively at the open air section of the celebrity restaurant chain, O’jez, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos outlet.

The two shows will also feature Elder O’s sidekick MC Phrymzo, who is gradually making his mark in the comedy sector. Both comedians handle the weekly O’jez Weekend Jamz sessions on Friday and Sunday.

The O’jez Sallah Nite on Wednesday, September 23 will feature the Evergreen Band with Elder O, MC Phrymzo and dance group Scata & Sons with resident Disc Jockey, DJ Multi on the wheels of steel. The Evergreen Band is known for its versatility in dishing out evergreen highlife songs with a full band compliment.

 

“We celebrate with our Muslim customers when they are celebrating, that is why every year; we always hold the O’jez Sallah Nite. Don’t forget also that there is the O’jez Xmas Blast. This edition of the O’jez Sallah Nite will be as unique as last year’s and even more,” Chief Joseph Odobeatu, Chief Executive Officer, O’jez Group said in a statement on Monday.

On the oncoming O’jez Independence Groove, Odobeatu, popularly called ‘O’jez’ said it would be a night to remember as “we will make Nigeria’s 55th Independence anniversary a memorable one for our customers”.

 

Elder O and MC Prymzo would be on call on October 1 but this time, the O’jez Band led by Vitus will feature Tony Okri (music veteran Mike Okri’s younger brother), the only female singer of the band, Colours and Pastor who specialises in a medley of highlife and upbeat gyration songs for all occasions.

 

“These two shows are very dear to me,” Elder O said in a separate statement issued by his Media Company. “If you are not at O’jez on Sallah and Independence days, you are not in Lagos”, the comedian submitted.
