Manchester United striker, Anthony Elanga has lamented that he is ‘frustrated’ about his lack of game time under current Red Devils manager, Erik ten Hag.

Elanga, who is a product of the club’s youth academy, was a regular under the previous manager but has been reduced to a place on the bench this season under the Dutch manager.

The 20-year-old was on the edge of joining La Liga giant, Barcelona or Premier League side, Everton during the January transfer window but it appeared Ten Hag refused to sanction the move.

Elanga, who sat out Sweden’s 3-0 defeat to Belgium on Friday night, after the match told reporters that he wants to play regularly at Old Trafford.

He, however, said he does not want to get confrontational with his Ten Hag, who holds the key to giving him playing time.

He said: “It is frustrating. You want to play, it’s important. But whether you play or not, it’s up to the coach, not me.

“I have spoken to Erik and it is private between the two of us.”
