El-Rufai also alleged that police officers on duty during ADC’s coalition meeting in Kaduna on Saturday provided cover for the attackers.

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai on Sunday alleged that the attack on him and other opposition figures in the state was masterminded by his successor, Uba Sani.
He made the claim while featuring as a guest on a Channels Television programme, ‘Politics Today’.
Several media outlets had earlier reported that chaos erupted in Kaduna State on Saturday after suspected thugs invaded an African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition meeting.
El-Rufai and other participants were attacked and properties vandalized.
While addressing the matter during his latest interview, the former governor claimed there is evidence that the state governor was behind the attack.
He said, “I have evidence; Kaduna State Governor is behind Saturday’s attacks. I will submit evidence to the IGP and other authorities if they care to investigate.”
He further lamented that “the policing system has collapsed in Nigeria,” alleging that police operatives were watching when the opposition figures came under attack.
He also dismissed suggestions that he was behind the disruption.
“It is very stupid for anyone to think I would invite thugs to invade an event of my party,” he also said.
