Newcastle United manager, Eddie Howe, has disclosed that his embattled striker, Alexander Isak, won’t feature when they face Liverpool on Monday night.
He made this known on Friday ahead of the Magpies’ Premier League fixture against the Reds at St James Park.
Isak has not played for Eddie Howe’s side since the end of last season, as he has effectively gone on strike in a bid to force a move to Liverpool.
Meanwhile, the league champions have seen one huge bid for the Swedish international rejected by Newcastle

Speaking ahead of their league game, Howe expressed optimism that the 25-year-old will still be part of his squad at the end of this summer.
He, however, confirmed the Isak will not be involved in Monday’s encounter.
“He’s contracted to us. He’s our player… and yes, 100% I want him back in a Newcastle shirt,” the English tactician said.
Howe added, “My wish is that he would be playing on Monday.
“He won’t be, that’s regrettable. But I still wait for him.”
