He said the depth of talent discovered at the athletics meet offers brighter future for Nigerian sports, predicting that many of the youngsters could go on to represent the country and Africa at the highest level.

“I see many of these young athletes representing Nigeria and the continent at a very high level. Some of them could even break records that have already been set at the national level,” he said.

The Omo Ekoh Movement convener also used the occasion to urge young Nigerians to take active interest in governance and decision-making, stressing that policies made by the government directly affect their careers and future.

He said the movement was committed to mobilising youths to participate meaningfully in the democratic process and upcoming elections.

“One of the things we are doing is enlightening the younger generation to get involved in elections so that they can be part of decision-making. They must be involved in deciding the people who will make policies that affect their careers and future”,

Hamzat said his experience at the Dynamic Athletics Meet had inspired him to consider doing even more for grassroots sports.

“The sky is the limit. Watching them here is inspiring me to find a way to invest further in the younger generation and in the sports industry generally,” he said.

He added that Omo Ekoh was already working with corporate organisations, government institutions, financial institutions and other agencies to create opportunities for young people.

With the third edition of the Dynamic Athletics Meet producing another platform for emerging athletes to showcase their abilities, Hamzat’s renewed commitment could boost continued growth of grassroots athletics in Nigeria
