Former federal lawmaker, Dino Melaye, has said Nigeria’s main opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has been “purchased” by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He made the allegation on Friday night while appearing as a guest on Channels Television programme, :Politics Today’.
Melaye, who resigned from the PDP on Thursday, further claimed that the opposition party receives dates for its National Executive Committee, (NEC) meetings directly from the Presidential Villa.
He said, “PDP has been purchased by the APC. The PDP is a parastatal of the APC. In fact, they take dates for NEC meetings and NWC from Aso Villa. Look at these PDP governors, are they acting as opposition? And you know how powerful governors are.”

When confronted that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) comprises politicians who were previously in PDP and APC, Milaye admitted that everybody in the party isn’t a “saint.”
The ex-Kogi Senator, however, argued that most of the opposition leaders in ADC are “concerned about Nigeria.”
“When there is an altar call in church, only those who have conscience and are ready to leave darkness to light respond to altar calls.
“ADC is an altar call. It is a national altar call. And those of us who have conscience, those of who want to see a new order. Those of us who want to see a Nigeria where we can answer questions from our grandchildren, when they ask ‘when Nigeria was getting bad, grandpa what did you do about it?’
“Not everyone in the ADC is a saint. But everybody who has joined in ADC is concerned about Nigeria,” Melaye noted
