The Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson has accused two All Progressive Congress chieftains, Chief Timipre Sylva and the Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Heneiken Lokpoboiri of being the mastermind of various criminal and cult-related crimes in Two Brass in Brass Local Government Area and Ekeremor Local government area.
Both APC chieftains hail from there.
Governor Dickson, at the maiden Monthly Transparency Briefing for 2018 stated that the duo were responsible for various criminal activities that have posed as security threat to the state which the government has been grappling with and urged President Muhammadu Buhari to call them to order so that Bayelsans that voted for him can live in peace and enjoy dividends of democracy.
He said: “I have it authoritatively that the duo have been sponsoring these criminals and even the Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Heneiken Lokpoboiri dined and wined with Oyawerikumor Peregbabofa alias Kareowei during the last Christmas at Ekeremor.”
He said elections were over as he expected them to give peace a chance and not to distract him by causing instabilities in the state.
He used the opportunity to reveal that the Restoration government has done much in infrastructural development of the state and was poised to commission more projects in education, health, roads soon.
Meanwhile, security operatives have arrested the culprit involved in the recent killing of a security personnel on Edegbene Community in Burutu Local Government Area òf Delta State.
A police statement identified the suspect who had been on the run since the unfortunate incident took place as a one Oyawerikumor Peregbabofa, alias Kareowei.
According to the authorities of the Bayelsa State Police Command, the suspect was arrested by a combined team of operatives in Delta State on Wednesday night.
Contrary to media reports that the security agent was not murdered in Delta State, the killing actually took place in Edegbene, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.
Though the suspect sustained a gun shot injury, he is in custody of security operatives. The details shall be made available to the public at the appropriate time, according to the police.
The statement commended the Government of Bayelsa State for giving the requisite support to the security agencies in the fight against criminality in the water ways.
The statement also called on the members of the nearby Toru Ndoro Community òf Ekeremor Local Government Area òf Delta State to return to their communities to go about their legitimate duties.
The police spokesman warned that security forces would not hesitate to move against
