Veteran journalist-turned-politician Dele Momodu has set tongues wagging on social media after sharing a campaign-style poster portraying himself as the running mate to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The Ovation publisher shared the now-trending image on Monday via his verified Facebook page.
Captioning the poster, Momodu called for national reconciliation, reorientation, and reconstruction.
He also described the 2027 presidential election as a likely contest between President Bola Tinubu and Atiku, describing the latter as the leading challenger in the race.

He further urged the ADC to adopt a new political approach that will bridge the gap between older and younger generations of leaders, as well as between experienced politicians and technocrats.
“It promises to be the battle of the Titans. A third force, hopefully, may show up, like it did in 2023, but not with enough firepower and tenacity to upstage, and obliterate, the two elder statesmen,” Momodu wrote.
He added that such a strategy would help foster national unity and address the country’s growing political and social tensions.
Stressing the need for stronger cooperation between Northern and Southern Nigeria to avoid catastrophe in the country, he urged politicians to return to the issue-based politics exemplified by Nigeria’s founding fathers, such as Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, Sir Ahmadu Bello, and Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
