De Zerbi got the job after Brighton’s managerial position became vacant due to the sacking of German tactician, Thomas Tuchel by Chelsea football club.

Todd Boehly, Chelsea’s co-owner, had a couple of weeks ago fired the former PSG boss and replaced him with Graham Potter who was in charge of Brighton.

The 43-year-old coach, while revealing he was persuaded to join the Premier League by Pep Guardiola, also said the Spaniard promised to share success tips in English football with him.

“He told me very good things about the club, and if I need, he will be very happy to help me – but of course not in the match we are playing against them!”
