Nigerian talent manager and Davido’s longtime manager, Asa Asika, has disclosed that he and the ‘Electricity’ hitmaker co-own newly promoted Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club Inter Lagos.
He made this known recently while appearing as a guest on the latest episode of the Manager’s Playbook podcast, hosted by music executive Mauricio Ruiz.
According to him, the Nigerian football outfit had previously competed in the lower-tier Nigeria National League (NNL) before securing its top-flight promotion.
Speaking about their ventures outside music, Asika disclosed, “We (Davido and I) own a football team in Nigeria together. We just got promoted to the Premier League. It is called Inter Lagos.”

With the club now preparing for the demands of Premier League competition, he positioned the investment as a long-term play rather than a quick return.
Drawing a parallel with how he and Davido approached the music business, Asika emphasised the need for patience and sustained development.
”It’s developing; it’s a lot of work now, the same thing as with music. We are doing this so that in another 10 years, we are building the business,” he explained.
According to Asika, their current portfolio of interests is deliberately spread across three pillars: music, sports, and lifestyle.
He noted that the football club sits squarely within the sports arm of that strategy, and Inter Lagos’s promotion now places the venture at a higher-profile stage of development.
