Davido says his performance at Alex Otti’s inauguration was free

Davido while replying a curious fan who asked if the gig was free, also said he had known the new Abia State governor, Otti all his life

Ace Afrobeat singer and record label owner, David Davido has confirmed he sang at the inauguration of the Abia State governor, Alex Otti for free.  

The ‘Electricity’ crooner made this known while replying to a question from a curious fan on social media.

A Twitter influencer identified as @sport_doctor2, while sharing some clips of Davido’s performance at the inauguration party of Otti asserted that the singer is a godson to the governor. 

“Many don’t know but Davido is Dr. Alex Otti’s godson and he’s in Umuahia at the inauguration after-party where he’s giving a full performance.” the influencer wrote. 

A tweep, @CFC Tony Mason then asked if Davido’s performance at the inauguration was paid for. “Na free performance??” Tony asked.

Responding to the question, Davido said he had known the new governor all his life and that his performance at the inauguration was free

He replied: “Not a dime I’ve known Excellency all my life..”

After the conversation made the rounds on Twitter, it elicited various reactions from fans, as most of those who commented hailed Davido for his generosity.  

A Twitter user, @sandypreneur’s wrote: I say good things are happening in my state now… Sky Daddy, thank you o.” 

Another internet user, @kweentimah said: “Always explaining.” 

@angel01montana_ added: “David has a good heart. Always coming through for his people.” 

Another netizen, @ada_daaeileen tweeted: “Aba people wetin Una add for Una stew make Una tell imolities abeg.” 

@yinkaicanfly said: “Man like David……..we all need one like him in our corners.Always coming through for his own.❤️” 

While @_nancyvictor wrote: “Na only this inauguration make sense… people’s choice.”
