Davido posts Okpebholo’s WASSCE result after Adeleke jibe
Afrobeats superstar Davido has appeared to respond to remarks made by Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo against Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke by posting what looked like the governor’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) result on social media.
The singer, born David Adeleke, shared the document on his Instagram Stories on Friday without any accompanying caption. The post was, however, widely seen as a subtle reaction to Okpebholo’s recent comments mocking Governor Adeleke.
Davido has consistently defended his uncle as political campaigns intensify ahead of the August 15 governorship election in Osun State.
The social media post followed a campaign rally held on Thursday for the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO. The rally was attended by several party leaders, including Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
During his address, Okpebholo criticised Adeleke’s fondness for dancing and questioned his approach to governance.
“Before somebody signs paper, he will dance. Are you not tired? For four years, this man has been dancing. Before he takes breakfast, before he drinks tea, he will dance,” the Edo governor said.
He also encouraged voters to collect money from rival political parties but support the APC candidate during the election.
