Dangote Refinery has once again reduced the retail price of its premium motor spirit otherwise known as “petrol” in various parts of the country.
This was disclosed in a fresh price template released by Dangote Group on its X account.
Apart from this, the 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery is also set to commence its free fuel distribution scheme on Monday, starting with Lagos, the South West, Abuja, Kwara, Delta, Rivers, and Edo, respectively.
Speaking on the development, the Dangote Group spokesperson, Anthony Chiejina, noted that the scheme will bring relief to millions of Nigerians by providing fuel at reduced prices.
He added that the free fuel distribution scheme was initially slated to start in August but was delayed due to logistics challenges.
He said; “We are starting the free fuel distribution scheme on Monday. We will start with Lagos and the South West, Abuja, Kwara, Delta, Rivers, and Edo States. There will be a drop in price effective on Monday when the free distribution starts”.

Meanwhile, with the new price template, in Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti, Dangote Refinery’s petrol retail price stands at N841 from N860 per litre.
In Abuja, Edo, Delta, Rivers and Kwara states, the largest African refinery retail price is N851, down from N885 per litre.
This means that Dangote Refinery reduced its petrol refinery in Lagos and the South-west states by N19, while in Abuja and the South-South, it reduced by N34.
The reduction is, however, expected to take effect on Monday September 15, 2025.
The company further said the refinery also embarked on a large-scale Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered truck roll-out to enhance logistic strength and reduce costs.
“Even though we recently noticed how the CNG prices doubled a week ago, that will not deter our 10,000 CNG truck roll-out this year,” Chiejina added.
