Danagogo arrives Brazil, receives Eagles, presidential delegation

The Honourable Minister of Sports/Chairman, National Sports Commission (NSC), Dr. Tammy Danagogo has arrived Brazil ahead of the Super Eagles who are expected to touch down in Sao Paolo later today (Tuesday) evening, according to the General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Barrister Musa Amadu.

The minister, who left Abuja Sunday morning through London, arrived Sao Paolo yesterday (Monday) and is expected to receive the Super Eagles as well as the presidential delegation to the World Cup led by Senate president, David Mark.

While the Super Eagles who played their last friendly match against the United States last Saturday are expected to depart from Miami, the presidential delegation will depart from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

 

Meanwhile Danagogo has appealed to Nigerians not to lose hope on the Eagles following their 1-2 loss to the USA in their last friendly match in Florida Saturday night, as fans expressed disappointments shortly after the match ended.

He stressed that the team would peak once the competition begins, adding that the friendly match was to enable the technical crew know the areas they would work on.

 

“The friendly match was just to prepare them for the task ahead, therefore I urge Nigerians to believe in the team and continue to support them because the morale of the players is high and they are determined to do the country proud,” the minister said.

 

He had visited the team in London before their friendly against Scotland to reassure them of President Goodluck Jonathan’s support for them, assuring them that everything needed to make their participation at the World Cup successful has been given to the NFF.
