The dreaded coronavirus disease which continues to slowly but steadily make its stealthy rounds in Nigeria has paid visit to another high profile state official.
This time, it is the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Muhammad Babandede, who tested positive.
Before him, high profile State officials including Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari Mallam Abba Kyari, Bauchi State governor Bala Mohammed, Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai, among others, had tested positive.
Babandede, who disclosed his status on Sunday morning, explained that he is already on self-isolation since he returned from the United Kingdom on March 22.
Nigeria as at Saturday night has at least 97 confirmed cases of the disease. Experts predict this number will increase exponentially in coming days.
Many of the infected persons imported the virus from Europe and America.
