Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has stated that the winner of the World Cup semi-final clash between France and Spain will eventually lift the trophy.
The Real Madrid shot-stopper made this known while speaking to reporters after the Red Devils were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the tournament by La Roja.
Mikel Merino came off the bench to score the winner for Spain as they booked a last-four clash with France.

Meanwhile, England will face Norway on Saturday in their quarter-final, while the reigning champions, Argentina, will square up against Switzerland in the final last-eight tie on Sunday.
Despite the pedigree of the remaining countries in the competition, Courtois believes that one of the two European powerhouses will get their hands on the trophy next week.
While making his prediction, he said: “Whoever gets the win in Spain vs France wins the World Cup.”
Courtois had started for Belgium in their 2–1 loss to Spain in the quarter-final tie but was replaced by Senne Lammens in the 71st minute after picking up an injury.
