As part of efforts to improve on the success already achieved in the last three editions of Copa Lagos, organiser of the FIFA-approved Beach Soccer tournament, Kinetic Sports, has hooked 1960Bet as partners for this year’s edition.
Unveiling plans for this year’s edition, Managing Director of Kinetic Sports, Samson Adamu, said they will continue to improve on the organisation of the tournament.
He said: “We are definitely moving forward in our quest to improve on the organisation of the tournament. That shows part of the reasons we’ve signed on 1960Bet as partners.
“We still remain loyal and in cordial relationship with our major sponsors, First City Monument Bank (FCMB), as well as other partners like SuperSports and Cool FM.”
Founded in 2001, Copa Lagos is organised under the scope of Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW), the FIFA-recognised entity behind the creation and growth of beach football, and aims to have a strategic role in development of beach soccer in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, this year’s edition, which is the fourth in the series, will hold from December 12 to 14 at the traditional Eko Atlantic City, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Kinetic Sports has announced the participation of FC Barcelona Beach Soccer team at this year’s event. The famous Spanish giant will play three of the biggest Nigerian clubs including Stationery Stores FC of Lagos.
Further, the Super Sand Eagles team will be defending its title against some of the best beach soccer national teams in the world in a tournament that will feature Switzerland and Cote d’Ivoire. The final surprise team will be announced later.
The competition will be played in a Round-Robin format allowing each team to prove itself against all participants during the three days of competition.
Since launching the first Copa Lagos three years ago, expert participation from the sports industry has increased remarkably, and is projected to be even greater this year.
The three-day event will be the prime family event that celebrates every sphere of life ranging from music, fashion, to entrepreneurship and sports.
