A popular Lagos-based thrift vendor and content creator, better known as Fems Thrift, has alleged that she and her friend were lured into a fake modelling job in the Ajao Estate area of the state and subsequently raped.

The survivor made the claim in a now-viral video shared on her TikTok page, noting that the incident occurred on Friday, 8 February.

According to her, she was contacted via Instagram by a man who claimed to have relocated from the United Kingdom to launch an international fashion brand in Nigeria.

The suspect reportedly offered her ₦140,000 for the shoot and requested that she use her social media influence to promote the brand.

Fems Thrift explained that she was first contacted on 1 February and agreed to the job after being assured that a make-up artist and production crew would be present.

“My friend was already with me, so she accompanied me for safety,” she said.

The influencer narrated that they arrived at the apartment around 11 am on the agreed date but found the space largely empty.

The suspect reportedly claimed the location was a “content creation space” and that the make-up artist had stepped out briefly.

He then asked her to shower, citing “excessive oil” on her skin, and provided a robe for her to change into.

After she had bathed, the man allegedly entered the room with a key, claiming he wanted to demonstrate how to lock the door before the videographer arrived.

“He locked the door, stood in a corner, and I became scared,” she recounted.

She added that the man then brandished a knife, ordered both women to undress, tied their hands with socks, and threatened to stab them if they resisted.

“He sexually assaulted us multiple times without protection,” she alleged.

Fems also claimed that before releasing them, the suspect seized their phones, forced them to unlock private folders, and AirDropped intimate photos and videos to himself. He reportedly threatened to publish the materials online if they reported the incident.

“He threatened me with my internet presence, saying if I spoke up, he would release my private videos now and in the future,” she added.

The victims reportedly left the apartment between 2 pm and 3 pm that same day.

Since the video surfaced, it has sparked widespread condemnation online, with netizens sharing images said to be of the perpetrator and calling for his immediate arrest.

When contacted, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, stated that no formal complaint had been filed as of 11 February 2026.

However, she added, “Efforts are ongoing to reach out to the lady to commence an investigation.
