Bovi, however, added that his assertion does not necessarily imply that his 17-year-old marriage has been devoid of rancour.

Popular stand-up comedian and Nollywood actor, Bovi Ugboma, has explained why he celebrates rather than gets sad when couples divorce, insisting it is the better option.
The 46-year-old thespian made this known recently during an appearance as a guest on the latest episode of The Moraya Show.
According to Bovi, he celebrates couples’ break-ups and ultimate divorces because he believes the partners going through difficult times in their marriages are finally free.

While emphasising his support for divorce, he argued that the end of such unions signifies relief for at least one of the partners, adding that it is a better option than remaining in a toxic marriage.
“I celebrate when people get divorced because I feel it means one or both people were not breathing well in the marriage. I will not suffer anybody, neither will I want anybody to suffer me,” Bovi said.
He, however, added that his assertion does not mean his 17-year marriage has been entirely free of rancour.
The comic actor added, “That is not to say my marriage has been easy for 17 years. It has not. I got married at 29. I have been providing for 17 years non-stop.”
