CIPM appoints Oluwatoyin Naiwo as Registrar

Naiwo before becoming CEO held positions of Head, Consultancy & Research, Director, Membership and Director, Strategy, Advocacy & Stakeholder Relations

The Governing Council of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) has appointed Ms. Oluwatoyin Naiwo, as the new Registrar and Chief Executive of the body.

This was made known via a statement made available to TheNiche and signed by Olusegun Mojeed, the President and Chairman of the Governing Council. 

According to him, Naiwo’s appointment is the result of a comprehensive process, which was approved by the Governing Council a few months back. 

Toyin Naiwo, whose appointment is with effect from Monday, September 12, 2022, is not a newcomer to CIPM having served in a number of previous positions in the Institute before her elevation.

The new CEO once held positions of Head, Consultancy and Research, Director, Membership and Director of Strategy, Advocacy and Stakeholder Relations.

The statement reads, “I am pleased to inform you that we have a new Registrar/Chief Executive for our beloved Institute. This is the result of a comprehensive process approved by the Governing Council a few months back. 

“On behalf of the Governing Council, I present to you Ms. Oluwatoyin Naiwo, FCIPM as our Registrar/Chief Executive with effect from Monday, September 12, 2022.

“Toyin is a commercially astute and committed Senior Executive/HR Practitioner/Consultant with a comprehensive and strategic understanding of business and technical issues and Human Resource Management.

Her diverse experience in Human Resource Management spans over a twenty-eight (28) year period across industries and sectors in the United Kingdom and Nigeria.

“She is no newcomer to the CIPM having served in a number of previous positions in the Institute which include Head, Consultancy & Research, Director, Membership and Director, Strategy, Advocacy & Stakeholder Relations, with the responsibility of driving the Institute’s strategy development and execution process, spearheading the Institute’s role in advocating a legislative agenda on Human Capital matters with the Nigerian government, building and maintaining relationships with governmental (Federal and State) and non-governmental institutional stakeholders both within Nigeria and internationally to extend CIPM’s reach and influence.

Similarly, the institute also announced the appointment of Mr Gbenga Samuel Odetunde, as Director, Professional Standards and Development and Mr Olutayo Olawale, as Director, Membership and Market Development. 

“In addition and by the same process, I’m glad to announce the resumption of two Senior Executives:

“Mr Gbenga Samuel Odetunde, ACIPM as Director, Professional Standards and Development, and 

Mr Olutayo Olawale, MCIPM as Director, Membership and Market Development

“We are confident that they will be a force in developing and driving CIPM forward in line with our vision to be the Institute of Choice for People Management.

“Kindly extend to them, the CIPM’s customary warm reception and hand of fellowship. We wish them well in their new tasks.” Olusegun Mojeed added.  

 

CIPM is the regulatory body for the practice of Human Resource Management in Nigeria, the Institute was established in 1968 and started as the Personnel Management Association of Nigeria and in 1973, it was renamed and has since taken on the current name.
