Afrobeats singer, songwriter, and actor Chike Ezekpeazu Osebuka, simply known as Chike, has revealed that his mother warned him not to tie the knot with a lady who does not add value to his life, regardless of love.
The ‘Hard to Find’ crooner made this known recently while appearing as a guest on the latest episode of the Ada’s Room podcast.
According to Chike, his mother counselled him against marrying a woman whose family is dependent on him or who is unemployed.
The 33-year-old artist added that she noted that walking down the aisle with a lady whose family members are financially dependent, but who does not have a source of livelihood herself, is a huge financial burden.

Speaking during the interview, Chike said: “I think everybody should look for a partner that has value. Personally, my mum advised me never to settle down with a woman who doesn’t have a source of livelihood, regardless of love.”
He added: “She also told me never to marry someone with the baggage of family responsibilities, especially a firstborn who is not productive.”
The thespian went on to disclose that he often interrogates women to see if they are from comfortable families and are productive before proposing a relationship.
Chike advised men to think beyond physical intimacy and consider other factors before entering into relationships, especially those with marriage potential.
