Chelsea could be set to deal their London rivals, Arsenal yet another blow in the January transfer window with a move for one of their transfer targets, Brighton’s Leandro Trossard.

This is because the Blues have been linked to the Belgium international shortly after they successfully “hijacked” the Gunners’ move for Shakhtar Donetsk winger, Mykhailo Mudryk.

Chelsea signed the 22-year-old after striking a deal with the Ukrainian club to pay £62m upfront and a further £26.5m in add-ons, an evaluation Arsenal were reluctant to meet.

Mudryk was later confirmed as a new player of the west London club on Sunday, January 15, after signing an eight-and-a-half-year deal.

Prior to this, Arsenal had seen three of their bids to Shakhtar turned down and they eventually backed out as soon as they were outbid.

Upon his arrival, Mudryk said: “I’m so happy to sign for Chelsea. This is a huge club, in a fantastic league and it is a very attractive project for me at this stage of my career. I’m excited to meet my new team-mates and I’m looking forward to working and learning under Graham Potter and his staff.”

It doesn’t appear the Blues are done with January window signings, as they have been now linked with Seagulls’ midfielder, Moises Caicedo who is rumored to be needed in fixing their midfield

According to Daily Mail, Chelsea are also eyeing a move for Brighton forward, Leandro Trossard, who has been on the radar of Arsenal too.

The winger looks set for an exit in the coming weeks, with a reported price tag of £25million, following a falling out with his manager.

Although the 28-year-old has impressed since he returned from the World Cup in Qatar, he was renowned for his versatility and finishing ability prior to the tournament.
