Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has insisted that he is concentrating on his side’s away clash against Group C leaders, South Africa, and not his future.
He made this known while addressing reporters ahead of Tuesday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture against the Bafana Bafana in Bloemfontein.
Chelle’s job could be on the line if Nigeria fail to get a good result against their hosts.
The three-time African champions have picked up seven points from their last three games in the qualifiers.

The Super Eagles, however, still trail Bafana Bafana by six points on the Group C table.
Speaking on the crucial encounter,
Chelle said he is only thinking about tomorrow’s game, adding that he is prepared for a possible sack if he fails to deliver.
“This is like that. I’m only focused on this game. My only focus is about my players. If the end of the story comes, this is football, I’m prepared for that, ” he said.
