Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle has issued stern warning to his home-based players ahead of their CAF African Nations Championship, (CHAN), group stage first match against fellow West Africans, Senegal.
The Malian tactician sounded the note of warning on Monday night during his pre-match press interview.
Nigeria will begin their quest for a first CHAN title against defending champions, Senegal at the Amman Stadium, Zanzibar on Tuesday night (today).
Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated encounter, Chelle told his players that Senegal have a history in football, a good generation and a good team.
He, however, assured that their preparation for their first group game has been good, adding that the lads will give their all.

“I don’t think it is a derby but this is a game between two big countries in Africa,” he said.
“They have a history in football. Senegal have a good generation and a good team.
“So our preparation for this game has been good and we’ll look to implement everything we have prepared into this match.”
Also speaking ahead of the derby, Home-based Super Eagles captain, Junior Nduka said the team want to emulate the Super Falcons, and D’Tigress by winning the 2024 CHAN.
He further declared that he and his teammates want to bring more success to Nigeria.
He said, “Our female team has just won the WAFCON, and our women’s team just won the basketball title. It’s a good record for the country and we hope to consolidate on that.”
The Kick-off time for the match is 6 p.m, Nigerian time.
