Cech reacting to the controversy, took to his Twitter handle to claim the goal suggests those who made football rules don’t understand the game

Former Chelsea goalkeeper, Petr Cech, has made his feelings about Bruno Fernandes’ controversial goal against Manchester City known, after claiming it was allowed to stand because football’s rule makers “don’t understand the game”.
Manchester City scored the first goal of the encounter in the 60th minute, when a cross from Kevin De Bruyne found Jack Grealish, who headed home to make it 1-0 to the Citizens.
Fernandes then drew his side level in the 78th minute after Rashford had shielded the ball from City’s defenders following a pass from Casemiro.
The goal became enmeshed in controversy, as Marcus Rashford was deemed to be offside in the build-up to the goal, although he didn’t touch the ball.

City players later protested that the England striker interfered with play before Fernandes scored but the referee ignored it and awarded the goal.
Reacting to the controversy, Chelsea legend, Cech, took to social media to claim the goal showed those who made football rules don’t understand the sport.
He tweeted: “The first United goal just proved the people who make the rules don’t understand the game.”
After the game resumed, Rashford who was at the centre of the controversy, scored what proved to be the winner, taking the Red Devils to the third position and one point behind arch-rivals, City.
