Pundit and former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher, has alleged that Manchester United’s management did not sack Portuguese tactician, Ruben Amorim, despite his poor performance because it does not want to admit making “mistakes”.

He made this known on Monday Night Football, while analyzing Red Devil’s 3-1 defeat to Brentford over the weekend.

The humiliating defeat left Man United in 14th position on the English Premier League (EPL) table.

Amorim has now picked up only 34 points from his 33 games in charge and he is yet to win back-to-back league games.

Speaking on why the 40-year-old coach remained in charge of Man United despite performing poorly, Carragher argued that sacking him will be an indictment on the club’s management.

He said, “I think he (Amorim) is still in a job because I think the powers that be at Manchester United have made that many mistakes so far.”

Carragher added, “With the decisions they have made on and off the pitch, they do not want to admit right now that they have made another.”

Amorim will have an opportunity to pick up all three points when Man United  host Sunderland this weekend at the Old Trafford.
