Carragher also blasted his former English teammate and ex-Chelsea midfielder for signing Manchester United flop, Donny van de Beek on loan last season

Pundit and Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, has claimed Merseyside club, Everton, made the right call when they parted ways with their manager, Frank Lampard.
Carragher also hit out at the former Chelsea manager for bringing Manchester United flop, Donny van de Beek, to Goodison Park on loan last season.
Everton announced the sacking of Lampard on Monday evening, after a ten-game winless run, with Everton left in the 19 position on the Premier League table.

Lampard arrived at Goodison Park in January 2022 with the club sitting in 16th position and four points above the relegation zone after Rafa Banitez was sacked.
Although he helped the club to avoid the drop that season, he left them with 15 points from 20 games and second to last on the log table this season.
Carragher speaking on Sky Sports about the sack said: “But I do feel that it’s the right decision, I think Frank [Lampard] got the job on the back of Rafa Benitez having a similar sort of run,”
“So, if you come in and have a similar sort of run that the previous manager had, I do not think you can have too many complaints.
“And with Everton bottom of the [Premier League] league with Southampton at the moment, I don’t think Frank can have too many complaints.
“He [Frank Lampard] has not spent a lot of money. They lost Richarlison, who was their best player last season.
“They have tried to replace him, [it was] always going to be difficult to. But when you look at the attacking players who he has brought in.
“Almost on his first day, he brought Dele Alli in and Donny van de Beek from Manchester United.
“They didn’t work, were not really a success.”
