Canada-based Nigerian woman who forced husband into ‘no-cheating’ oath, celebrates mother-in-law’s death
A Nigerian woman based in Canada, Ezinne Nwanorue, is facing backlash after celebrating the death of her mother-in-law, Comfort Chika Nwanorue, on social media and calling her a “witch.”
The controversy comes days after the couple went viral for publicly taking a fidelity oath. In the video, Ezinne’s husband, Franklin Nwanorue, vowed to remain faithful to her after relocating to Canada, saying: “I confess and I promise that if I come to Canada and cheat on you, let me die in the name of Jesus.”
Days later, Ezinne accused Franklin of allegedly having an affair with another woman despite the public declaration.
She then posted a message celebrating her mother-in-law’s death, describing the deceased as a “wicked witch.”
“One wicked witch is down: my dead mother-in-law, Comfort Chika Nwanorue. Rest in pieces in hell with other dead witches; your members will soon join you,” she wrote.
Ezinne further alleged that her late mother-in-law and other family members had “worked against her and tried to destroy her future.”
“These people have dealt with me in this life. They found out about my destiny and did everything within their power to bring me down, but I thank God for helping me discover who I am and coming through for my destiny,” she stated.
She also said she was speaking “from the place of my office as a prophetess of God Almighty,” and warned those she described as “witches and evil people” to repent.
