Calafiori, who represented Italy at Euro 2024, will then join Mikel Arteta’s squad for their United States pre-season tour

Bologna defender, Riccardo Calafiori, is expected to fly to the United Kingdom from Italy on Friday to complete his medicals at North London club, Arsenal.
According to Italian journalist and transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, Calafiori is on the verge of signing for the Gunners after they agreed a €50m (£42.1m) fee for him.
The Italy international, who shone at Euro 2024, after his medical is expected to join Mikel Arteta’s squad in the United States, where they are having their pre-season tour.

Speaking on the deal via his official X page, Fabrizio Romano, tweeted: “Understand Riccardo Calafiori’s travel from Italy to London is being planned for today.”
He added, “He’s expected to fly for first part of medical tests in London then time to join Arteta and his squad in the US.”
A youth product of Roma, Calafiori signed his first contract with the Italian side on June 16, 2018.
After suffering a near career-ending knee injury in 2018, he made his professional debut with Roma in August 2020 against Juventus.
Following a loan spell at Genoa he was sold to Basel in 2022. He, however, returned to Seria A to join Bologna in 2023.
