Arsenal kicked off the 2025/26 English Premier League (EPL) season with a win, beating Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford.

The Gunners were looking to finally win the title after finishing in second place for the last three years, while the Red Devils wanted to better their 15th-place finish from last season.

Although Man United started the game brightly, it was Mikel Arteta’s men who took the lead in the 13th minute.

Riccardo Calafiori reacted quickest inside the box to head home a Declan Rice corner-kick. The goal proved to be the only one scored in the game.

Man United threatened going forward, led by new boys, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

However, Arsenal goalkeeper, David Raya made a series of excellent saves to keep the home side out, turning away three shots from Cunha and scrambling to his left in the second half to keep out a goalbound effort from another, Mbeumo

Rice went close for the visitors with a late free-kick but Arsenal were still able to complete their fifth victory in six league games over United.
