Jamaican-British rapper Stefflon Don has disclosed she learned a few things from her split up with Nigerian singer Burna Boy, a Grammy Award winner with whom she cozied up for two years, the end of which she said broke her heart.

She said the experience taught her to express herself more, stressing the importance of quality communication in a relationship in a recent interview with Dose of Society.

Interviewer: “What did you learn from your last heartbreak?”

Stefflon: “To like express yourself a bit more. Express your feelings. Express your concerns.

Interviewer: “What made you realise that?”

Stefflon: “By having a conversation again and I realised that the person just misunderstood a lot of things.”

Stefflon and Burna Boy announced their split in 2021 – two years after meeting on vacation in Ghana in 2019 and began a romantic relationship.

She has since described him as “the love of my life.”
