Buhari’s failure drags down Tinubu’s pledge to be different, he adds

By Jeph Ajobaju, Chief Copy Editor

Former Senator Shehu Sani says the failure of Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a drag on the argument by Bola Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate, that he can do things differently and better.

Sani warned Tinubu is up against the complicated, contradictory, and uncomfortable task of defending the poor performance of the APC while claiming to be above it.

“The most complicated, contradictory and uncomfortable position of the presidential candidate of the ruling party is that of having to defend the failures of the ruling party and at the same time pledging to be different,” he tweeted, per Daily Post.

Tinubu fingers Abuja officials as plotting against his victory

Tinubu lamented last Wednesday on the stump in Abeokuta fuel scarcity and non-availability of new naira notes are part of a plot by government officials to scuttle his chances at the ballot box.

He said the unpleasant situations were created by his political opponents to cause citizens’ disaffection with the APC.

“Even if they said there is no fuel, we will trek to vote. They have a lot of mischiefs, they could say there is no fuel. This one too, they think they can cause crisis by sabotaging fuel supply,” Tinubu moaned.

Fuel supply sabotage

“They are sabotaging fuel supply. Whether there is fuel or not, whether there is Okada [motorcycle taxi] or not, whether there is tricycle [taxi] or not, we will go and vote and we shall win, Tinubu said.

“This is a superior revolution and when I tell you, you know what I mean. You know me, we are going there to win.

“They have been scheming to create fuel crisis, but forget about it. Relax, I, Asiwaju, have told you that the issue of fuel supply will be permanently addressed.

“Whoever wants to eat the honey embedded in a mountain won’t worry about the axe. Is that not so? And if you want to eat palm kernel, you would bring stone and use it to break it, then the kernel will come out. It’s not easy.

“Let them increase the price of fuel, only they know where they have hoarded fuel. They hoarded money, they hoarded naira; we will go and vote and we will win.

Hoarding new naira notes

“Even if they change the ink on the naira notes, whatever their plans, it will come to nought. We are going to win. Those in the PDP will lose (wón ma lu lè).

“I am homeboy, I have come here, you will not be put to shame, we will take over the government from them, the traitors who wanted to contest with us. They have no experience.

“This is a revolution. This election is a revolution. They are plotting, but they will fail. They said fuel price will increase and reach N200 per litre. Go and relax. They don’t want this election to hold, they want to scuttle it.”
