Lauretta Onochie, former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has told President Bola Tinubu that there will be consequences for his imposition of emergency rule in Rivers State.
She issued the warning on Wednesday night in a post she shared on her Facebook page.
In March, President Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers and suspended Governor Sim Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and all elected members of the state’s House of Assembly for six months.
He then appointed retired Vice Admiral Ibok Ibas as the state’s administrator to oversee governance.

However, on Wednesday, September 17,
the president lifted the emergency rule and reinstated Fubara and others.
Reacting to the development, Onochie said the “Niger Delta” people will punish Tinubu for the alleged lawlessness he perpetuated in Rivers State.
She also accused the president of imposing an illegal and unconstitutional emergency rule in the oil-rich state for six months.
Speaking via her verified social media handle, Onochie wrote: “Tinubu never thought that the 6 months of hell he illegally and unconstitutionally imposed on Rivers State will come to an end.
”That lawlessness will be punished in 2027 by Niger Delltans. We are set.”
