Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been listed in the Red Devils squad that will face Chelsea in Saturday’s Premier League early kick-off encounter.
This was revealed after United manager Michael Carrick released a 22-man squad to tackle the Blues in a week 9 fixture.
Man United, who are currently 16th in the league table, travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea, who sit 5th, in the weekend’s opening match.
The red half of Manchester head into the game following a 3-0 defeat against Bournemouth in the Premier League last weekend at Old Trafford.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Carrick’s list for the game against Chelsea includes captain Bruno Fernandes, midfielder Mason Mount, and striker Joshua Zirkzee.
In the encounter against Bournemouth on 25 October 2026, Fernandes did not play in Manchester United’s 3–0 defeat despite being named on the bench.
Carrick left him as an unused substitute following public criticism of the team’s tactics and gave the captain’s armband to Harry Maguire instead.
Below is Man United’s full squad to face Chelsea:
Goalkeepers: Lammens, Darlow, Heaton, Mee.
Defenders: Maguire, Martinez, De Ligt, Heaven, Yoro, Dalot, Mazraoui.
Midfielders: Fernandes, Baleba, Mainoo, Mount, Santos, Tielemans.
Attackers: Mbeumo, Amad, Cunha, Lacey, Zirkzee.
