His ministry was backed with mighty healing revivals, which attracted people from Spain and all over the world to Ilesha and South West Nigeria where most of his meetings were held. He brought healing and deliverance to countless people in many of his meetings. Even the dead were raised on several occasions. In fact, these healing revivals in Nigeria were reported in the Manchester Guardian (UK) of January 8, 1932.
He founded the world acclaimed Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), known for apostolic power and revival. If Babalola had heard this voice, but failed to obey or refused to heed the call of God upon his life, he would have experienced unending battles in his chosen vocation. As a steam-roller operator, the aggrieved Spirit of God would have destroyed the machine and might have eventually killed him if he had remained stubborn. That is the case of many today that are suffering because of broken dedications and failure to answer the call to serve on the altar of God.
“Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it to go with them unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. But the Lord sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken” (Jonah 1 vs. 3-4).
When you are dedicated to the altar, you must stay by the rules of the altar. David in 1 Chronicles 18 dedicated gold and silver he brought from his several battles in several nations to God. Several years later, Nebuchadnezzar raided Jerusalem and brought the golden vessels from God’s temple to his country. Belshazzar, his son, unaware that the vessels had been dedicated to God, entertained himself as he and his concubines drank wine with them. As they were enjoying themselves, the Holy Spirit, aggrieved, appeared as a finger and wrote his obituary on the wall. That night, King Belshazzar died (Daniel 5 vs. 1-31).
There is this story of a young man that kept having strange dreams and revelations about his calling. He did not know it was the call of God until he got filled with the Holy Ghost. He heard a voice saying: “I have called you.” He responded to the voice and God used him mightily, bringing healing to sick people in the hospital and during his rural crusades and outreaches.
He preached everywhere, from street to prisons, houses to brothels, and many got delivered. Eventually, he left the faith and went deep into the world and sin. Not long after, he became paralysed on his feet, and doctors could not explain his ailment.
In his condition, he prayed and sought the face of God. One night, an angel of the Lord appeared to him and told him that he was paralysed because he abandoned the call of God. He then vowed that he would return to his dedication and consecration. Immediately he did that, he was restored. Today, he is in the ministry, doing very well and prosperous.
