British Council validates Preston director Ajayi as instructional leader

The British Council has validated the Director of Preston International School, Akure, Ondo State, Dr Toyin Ajayi, as an Instructional Leader, in recognition of his commitment to improving teaching, learning and school leadership.
Ajayi was presented with his Certificate of Validation as an Instructional Leader by the British Council on Thursday, August 13, 2025, marking another milestone in his professional development and leadership journey.
The British Council Instructional Leadership Programme is designed to equip school leaders with the skills required to move beyond administrative responsibilities and provide effective leadership in teaching, learning and overall school improvement.
The programme emphasises the development of supportive and collaborative learning environments where both teachers and students can thrive.
With the validation, Ajayi is expected to deploy the knowledge and skills acquired through the programme to strengthen instructional leadership and contribute to improved educational outcomes.
The programme also provides trained instructional leaders with the opportunity to mentor and develop other school leaders across both public and private schools, thereby extending its impact beyond individual institutions.
His validation, according to the school, is expected to further strengthen ongoing efforts to improve standards at Preston International School, while positioning Ajayi to contribute to the professional development of school leaders beyond Ondo State.
The school expressed optimism that his new status as a British Council-validated Instructional Leader would translate into further improvements in teaching and learning at Preston International School.
It also noted that Ajayi’s leadership experience and professional development would enable him to play a wider role in empowering school leaders and promoting effective instructional practices across Nigeria.
