Bright Chimezie insists smoking, drinking doesn’t boost creativity

Bright Chimezie added that singers who smoke or drink are only having “fun” and not doing so to gain inspiration.

Veteran Afrobeats singer, Bright Chimezie, has countered the notion that some musicians get inspired after smoking and drinking.

He disagreed with the claim while featuring as a guest on a recent episode of the CreativTea Podcast.

According to Chimezie, artists who smoke or drink are only having “fun” and not doing so to boost their creativity.

While dismissing such claim as a false narrative, the ‘Because English’ hitmaker insisted that music inspiration comes naturally.

Speaking during the interview, he argued, “The claims that you need to drink or smoke to get music inspiration is false. If you are drinking or smoking, you are just having fun. That doesn’t mean it will boost your creativity.”

Bright Chimezie, who is known for his influential music style called “Zigima Sound”, further advised fellow singers to stay true to what inspires them rather than follow such myth.
